Hi, Litfan!
And hello, music lovers. I'm remembering the Druid on his birthday.

Chip on Your Shoulder

The Anchoress

Sweet Princess :rose:
I hope this finds you well.

I raise a glass to Druid. He is missed.

Nice, and thanks for including Boz Scaggs, he and Joe Jackson were the sound of my college days

Transatlantic : The Absolute Universe

Love the instrumentals. The vox are ... good. Morse is good, but to me, every song he's on sounds similar. I wish they'd bring on a different vocalist.

You will really like the new Innocence and Danger - Eric Gillette and Bill Haubner handle a lot more of the vocals. Even Portnoy does some lead vox.

Beethoven's 5th piano concerto (Emperor suite)

One of my all time favorite pieces of music,

Mike Oldfield - Five Miles Out (album)

What a fun mess. A beautiful showpiece of "Conventions? FUCK Convention!" songwriting. Or is this record completely chaotic and sometimes directionless? Whatever, I like it. Not as much as the original "Tubular Bells", but well enough.

St. James Infirmary --- Stan Kenton

'Just put a $20 gold piece on my watch chain so the boys will know I died standing pat.'

Lalo Schifrin, soundtracks from Bullitt to The Dead Pool and everything between them, while I write.

I love Five Miles Out!

That said, I haven't spun it in (probably) 15 years, and owe it another spin soon.

One of my favorite Oldfield releases was in the days of vinyl : There was a double-album, and the 4 sides were called
- The Instrumental side,
- The Vocal Side (which included Sally Oldfield singing Five Miles Out),
- The Complex Side, and
- The Live Side.

I'm not much of a fan of compilations, but this one was excellent.
