What Are You Listening to Now 7.0

I told the eco dot to play Fleetwood Mac , it was a Pm suggestion I thought was a pretty good one.

Dio - Holy Diver (album)
Black Sabbath - Heaven and Hell (album)
Candlemass - King of the Gray Islands (album)

Not in a good mood today. At least the music helps.

@Haulover: Get well soon!

@Litfan: Got your messages, will get back to you once my head is back on straight.

Sorcerer

Cyan

First single off the upcoming 9/24 release.

Well, I've just found this little ditty here...
Sorcerer - Gates Of Babylon (Rainbow Cover)
https://youtu.be/njPeQpBRmUk

Talk about putting your own spin on things. LOVE IT!!!

Also a nice surprise: Hypocrisy - Chemical Whore (which sadly is deep in the Growl Zone, sorry litfan!)
https://youtu.be/uJRUq90EC_A

That fantastic groove! The twin guitar leads! I've missed these guys. "End Of Disclosure", their last album, feels like half a century ago. Granted, this is another variation on the "Roswell 47" formula of slow, steamroller-y groove plus ultra-melodic leads, but for me, this is Death Metal soul food. Tastes great each and every time. And yeah, I confess for being a hypocrite after slamming Powerwolf and Sabaton for basically doing the same. Maybe absence does make the heart grow fonder.

Enter Sandman

Alessia Cara and the Warning

love, love, love this version.
I am a big fan of the Villarreal sisters.

90 some odd hour playlist of various collections of classical stuff. No idea what any of it is, but it makes good background music.

Yes - Going For The One
Camel - Stationary Traveller
The Alan Parsons Project - Gaudi

(I feel proggy today.)

"Cyan" - as in Rob Reed? I.e. Cyan which morphed into Magenta?

If so, how does Cyan's new incarnation compare with Magenta?

Now you are talking to a major fan of Magenta, so I like how it definitely reminds me of Magenta.

Reed said how he has felt Cyan has been in a need for updating as it was his first, and he had limited funding and experience then. Why now, he found the perfect vocalist (and I agree) with Peter Jones.

So far they have only released Sorcerer. The album comes out Sept. 24th. Reed is on keyboards, Jones on vocals, with Magenta bassist and drummer and the guitarist from Tangent.

I believe he will be focusing on updating the old Cyan material before anything new.

Hair nation on Sirius where its always the 80's when the hair was big, the pants were tight and most importantly everyone didn't hate each other.

End of Innocence

Tony Kaye

First ever solo album from the founding keyboardist of Yes with his wife on vocals. It is a concept album chronicling the events of 9/11 which affected Kaye deeply.
Sadly, I am listening on a kindle so the speakers aren't the greatest, but it is a beautiful, somber album.

Are you kidding? The band member feuds were quality entertainment. Generally vocalists and guitarists never got along. But it was fun music!

Shout to Vixen! Love that band. Petrucci bangs those drums like no one's sister!

Yay proggy!

Love Gaudi. Great choice.

So, with many thanks (and after several other APP albums I've listened to today), I offer: I was on a flight with Dee Snider once. First Class, baby. He had a beautiful companion, who wore beautiful hose on her beautiful legs, with (as I recall), a pattern on one leg. Maybe a butterfly? Dunno, it was years ago. All I remember was that it was, um ... something I've used in at least one of my stories.

Anyway. This one photo killed hair metal for me. At that point, I didn't realize that any other kind was possible. The album grew on me, slowly and then suddenly. I used to bring my portable CD player to work, with about 30 CDs to choose from. And when I'm working, I'm lost to it. So I didn't notice. But a co-worker, who also happened to be a music journalist and who often lent me CDs, lent me this one. It took awhile to sink in. You can't think about other things when you do what I do. When it happened, it was sudden.

How can metal be possible without so much ... hair?

History will judge.

Beethoven: 3. (»Eroica«) ∙ hr-Sinfonieorchester ∙ Andrés Orozco-Estrada

This version is quite quick (as a pal of mine 0once put it, 'he wants to got home and get his Tea').
