Ceremonia II

Bizirik

Trying some new instrumental prog from Chile. I'm intrigued they have two bassists who use Chapman sticks. I've always wanted to play one.

Sing A Little Jingle -- The Boswell Sisters.

A bubbly, bouncy 1930s dittie.

The sirens of the ambulances as they go to and from the hospital down the street. And the Sheriffs Deputies sirens as they go to and from the station next to the hospital.

I went on a 50-mile bike ride yesterday. I purchased a set of bone conduction headphones so I could hear music, but could also hear any cars coming up behind me. My tunes for the ride were mostly fairly approachable pieces, with top notch execution:

Dream Theater : Scenes From A Memory

Pain Of Salvation : In the Passing Light Of Day

Therion : Gothic Kabbalah

Then, at mile 42, I crashed. A car ran into me. Got home from the ER at midnight last night - nothing broken, but it's gonna hurt for a bit :(

Fire Within -- Asian Crisis

A really cool jazzy tune I got on a sampler, but I can't find anything else from the group.

Their Facebook hasn't had a post since 2016.

I'll have to check into them.

jaFO, you've been playing great stuff lately. Thanks to my parents, I grew up on a very healthy diet of big band swing. Fun stuff.

Noel's Song -- Noel Pointer

Jazz violinist. First two albums weren't as good as the last two. He really seemed to be hitting his stride. Then he died, some kind of brain trauma.

Take Five -- Dave Brubeck. Kind of one of the benchmarks of Jazz. One of those that anyone who listens to jazz has heard.

Well shit! Glad you're not too badly injured, but that would've been no fun at all. Hope you heal up quickly.

At last; I lost my video copy of this concert (I saw it on TV).
But I found THIS one.

The Albert Hall was THE place to be, in September 1973.
The Everly Brothers Reunion.
I remember that Tickets were not easy to get
(especially if, like me, you lived in Yorkshire);
the place was bopping; with a good bunch of backing musicians, there was joy in the House.
