Let's talk about silly fears.
What do you have a ridiculous fear of? Something your logical mind knows better but some little place in the back of your mind still gets chilla thinking about....
I have SCUBA dived with sharks, and I have been camping in bear country for almost fifty years. I never had a problem with either. I'd swim with black tip reef sharks again, and I sleep soundly in camp.
But,
I am petrified of snakes. I don't mean just rattlers or escaped pythons, I mean all of them from garter snakes on up.
Years ago my buddy and I were hunting on Lake Erie near a park on the water's edge. (Recognize that this means we both had 12 ga shotguns and lots of ammo and a large yellow bringer-backer dog to defend ourselves). We just unloaded and gotten in his truck and were trying to decide where to head next. Lake Erie is known for large, slightly aggressive water snakes. One flopped out of a low hanging tree branch onto the hood of his truck. I can attest that a 1983 Dodge Ram with a 318 can do 40 kilometers per hour (about 25 mph) in reverse. Neither of us got out of the truck until we hit the highway.
My favourite nearby National park is one of the only places in Ontario that has bears and Massasauga Rattlers. The Massasauga is the second smallest rattlesnake, non aggressive and reclusive. Guess which one scares the bejeebers out of me...
