Guys in pressed camo does not equal military.
And neither do gals in pressed camo. Or anybody in sweaty camo.

I was military long ago. I no longer am. I sometimes wear pressed camo, and not that pink shit. I still carry firearms at times -- cased, until ready to use. I do not pretend to be official but I could. Anyone seeing me openly holding a long firearm at port arms should think I don't have their best interests at heart. Because I probably won't.

PS: Not only long weapons. With a .45 ACP I can do dental work at 25 meters. Smile, sucker.

No, ROTC cadets use modern uniforms that you don't press.

And yes ROTC cadets (some usually upper class) are already in.

Calling the cops on the universities ROTC cadets is stupid.

She said it isn't her job to decide who is a threat and who isn't.

Do you think it should be her job?

It is EVERYONE'S job.

And calling the cops on ROTC cadets is about as fucking retarded as calling the cops on campus cops because you're not sure if they are real cops or not. Not quite, but almost.

Or anybody in sweaty camo.

LOL said like a true POG.

That she was informed by campus security what was going on and openly stated she intended to keep calling 911, that tells you all you need to know about her.

You'll pay for the work done, right?

If they are openly holding weapons and are not obviously, conspicuously uniformed LEOs then no, it's not retarded. Where did you train?

POG?
POG is a three letter acronym (or three-letter abbreviation) that may stand for:

* Pediatric Oncology Group, former U.S. and Canadian clinical trial cooperative group
* Personnel Other than Grunts, pejorative military slang, also known as "pogue"
* PHP Object Generator, type of object-relational mapping software
* Pillars of Garendall, role-playing video game
* Pittsburgh Organizing Group, former Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania-based anarchist organization
* Planogram, visual representations of a store's products or services
* Point of Grace, all-female Contemporary Christian music group from Arkansas
* Polyphonic Octave Generator, a modulation pedal for a musical instrument
* Price of Gold, benchmark for the price of the commodity

Perhaps you meant "Personnel Other than Grunts" in which case you are incorrect. What's your branch of service? What's your DD-214 status?

You'll pay for the work done, right?

What?

ID'ing threats is everyone's job...security is all the time everywhere.

If you go through life with your head up your ass you deserve what you get.

If they are openly holding weapons and are not obviously, conspicuously uniformed LEOs then no, it's not retarded. Where did you train?

No it's fuckin stupid.

She's just doing this to make a stink.

EVERYONE else in the US has no issue ID'ing the ROTC cadets and their little dummy M1's without totally loosing their cool, even students who don't really even know what the fuck ROTC is know the army kids meet in their area to spin their rifles and dance around every week.

Except this one fucking moron who just happens to be part of the staff who is TOLD what's going on.

Yea that's exactly what I meant, if your uniform isn't sweaty/dirty you spend too much time behind a desk.

Army....retired.

That was the point of the thread. Her ignorance might be excusable on the first 911 call but, if she does it again, she belongs in jail.

I think Jail is a little excessive....some ridicule ought to do just fine and if not a fine usually works better, if not still probation/community service and a really big fine usually drive the message home. If she still insists on being a problem THEN you might be able to charge her with some shit that will result in some jail time.

She's just dialing 911 to be a bitch it's not like she's a threat.

Jesus Christ what the fuck is with you incarceration happy lock everyone up for everything Republicans?

It's illegal to do and here is the penalty in very liberal CA: http://abc13.com/archive/9212770/

This law was passed by the Dem. controlled legislature.

Yea....I think penalizing them for the cost is perfect, fuck add 6mo community service to it. Got all kinds of area beautification tasks we can slave the fuckin shit out of nonviolent offenders with.

Hell of a lot better than a year in jail costing taxpayers sitting in a cell. That shit is fucking retarded.

IDGAF who passed it.

Penalizing them constructively instead of turning them into a bill for taxpayers when there is just no need to go that far is just a smarter way of doing shit.

No matter how much you want it to be illegal, "see something, say something" will never bring charges. It isn't frivolous if there are guns actually being wielded on the premises.

It is frivolous when the 911 caller knows there is no threat and reports it anyhow, which is the subject of the thread.

The police apparently disagree, since they told her to call any time she sees someone walking around campus with a gun.

It's "interesting" what possibilities gun nuts will choose to be blind to in order to feel justified in keeping their penis-enhancing toys.
So now ROTC students are "gun nuts"?

Have you seen a report that that's how they were carrying them? Assuming they were M1's I think it's a lot more likely they were carrying them sling arms walking across campus.
It's highly unlikely two cadets walking across campus to training are going to be carrying port arms unless they are being hazed by upper class cadets. Which brings us back to
As for open-carry: A weapon strapped to one's hip or back is one thing.

This is apparently what you are citing:

“A few minutes later, a university officer calls me back—not to reassure me, but to scold me for calling 911. He says ROTC has permission to do this exercise. When I tell him that this was news to 911 and that they encouraged me to call whenever I see a gun on campus, he seems surprised,” she wrote.

Do you believe her and do you believe this situation would be an exception?

I believe teh America Hating FOREIGN CUNT will call just cause its ROTC and will call RACIST on anyone that will oppose the ISIS flag being flown there

Umm, no. Nor did I ever post that they were. I'm not surprised that you have to go into misrepresentation to make an argument on this issue. ;)
There were certainly no posts prior to yours having to do with gun rights, the second amendment or campus carry pros and cons.
Therefore your post was either a complete non sequitur and just an excuse to insult people, or you think ROTC cadets are gun nuts with penis enhancers. Take your pick.

As for my need to "misrepresent" to make an argument on the issue, that's really the pot calling the kettle black. I've made much better arguments in this thread that you have plus I haven't had to toss insults to do it.

Desk. Hah. No, you are incorrect.

No I'm not, if you're a desk jockey with a clean uniform you're a fuckin POG.

Then I would expect you to have more sense.

If you immediately know the candle light is fire, then the meal was cooked long ago

He won't actually come out and be direct with his words, it's against his very nature.

All he knows is there is a hysterical anti gun nut making a stink and he's gotta back it NO MATTER WHAT!!

Please bark up another tree. I was in the field with blood, mud and crud.

BTW I checked with my brother the SoCal police chief and my sister the NYC transit cop LT (she was out of her WTC office on 9/11, good thing) and they both advised being safe not sorry. See it, report it, let the pros handle it.

Why? It seems that we agree...

Of course they did they are part of the "Just stand there and let them gun you down. " crowd.

Almost every cop in M'uricuh is...and IDGAF, I make PID on an eminent threat you and I both know the quickest way to end that threat and it ain't calling no fuckin' cops. Even a 2 min response time is a fucking eternity.

And calling the cops on ROTC cadets every week even though they are uniformed and you have been informed of their presence/activities is fucking retarded.

Actually it was the 911 dispatcher who said that, not the police department. And I'd be extremely surprised if they meant for her to call every time she sees a uniformed cadet with a rifle.
It's entirely possible that the Grand Forks police department, even if they knew, neglected to pass on the information to the 911 EMS center.

Like I said, even though she should have known better since she has ROTC students in her class (who no doubt are in uniform sometimes in her class) and was notified ahead of time of the activity, I'd give her one freebie. Her continued calls to 911, as she's stated she'll do, is just a nutjob troublemaker looking for attention.
Despite her claims, if she does that she doesn't care about safety because every bogus 911 call is potential delay for response to an actual emergency.

It's interesting she complains about lack of funding for the university yet has no qualms burdening the 911 center with frivolous calls when they are struggling financially.
