I have heard people speak of gatherings of denizens of liit, referred to as Litogethers, but I have never spoken with anyone who actually has been to such a gathering. (And I don't see anyone trying to organize them any more).

Many, many years ago we used to have a monthly one in my area. Usually six to ten people would show, sometimes more sometimes less. Maybe some of the others were hooking up, I don't know. But I met some lovely people that way.

oh, that is so true, but everywhere. I used to check Craigslist personals, and could never meet the criteria. Hell, more than half are either look for young or mature, and I am old and immature, so right there, I am out at line one.

Sadly, no. Several have passed away. A couple of them moved. Most just drifted away from Lit over the years and never kept in touch.

See above. As to what happened to it, there were two members who were really the driving force behind our Litogethers. One, in her 70s when I met her, passed on. The other developed some serious health issues (which eventually claimed her as well). Without them pulling everything together and championing it on the boards it just kind of fizzled out.

I was in my early 20's back then and it just never even occurred to me to try and do the work to try and keep it going. Not sure it would have worked anyhow, as those two were kind of the social heart of the group anyway. Very sad.

lol. Though it may not be all that unusually of a brand of crazy, as you wouldn't be the first person to consider a bad idea because tits are involved. It is the basis of many a movie, and many a memorable story, including many of my own. I heard that rumour when I first joined. I believed it to be true through my first catfishing. And the second. By the third I was convinced it was true. Each time a different woman warned me that the "chick" I was flirting with in the PG had a dick. (Two are long gone). And, yes, I have a penis and not enough blood for it AND my brain, so "three" catfishings. Then a lovely Litster sent me unsolicited tit pics. Then a second Litster. Then one asked me to "compose" her next photoshoot. I don't get unsolicited tit pics all that often, but I consider them proof of "Myth Busty" er "Busted". (Unsolicited tit pics are the opposite of unsolicited dick pics)

As far as the preceding: I am neither a Republican nor a Democrat (Canadian; I voted NDP in the last election, think "Bernie"). I have never been to a "Litogether" but it sounds like fun (I missed a live meeting once due to flight schedule: Air Canada was on time dammit), I despise both the Edmonton Oilers and the Calgary Flames. I believe the brazen hussies of AmPics do corrupt sweet innocent virgins, but most of those are guys who live in Mommy and Daddy's basement.
